With a little watercolor set, a tiny water jar, and a couple of weathered brushes, I traveled through México painting plein air scenes (en aire libre), patterns, and fragments from art and history museums. The process of painting became an entry point for connection with people, and I invited others, especially children, to paint with me. What a pleasure it is to make the world your studio! The pages of this sketchbook are an homage to that dynamic, vibrant country, and the brilliant, joyful, socially-conscious people I learned from and connected with along the way.
